Grant Updates
The Kansas School-Based Services grant has been very active this month. A survey was distributed to parents across the state of Kansas to gain valuable insight into what types of services their children receive at school. With nearly 4,450 responses, the program plans to use the data to continue to advance the goals of the grant. In addition, with support of Gainwell, the grant program successfully conducted the second training for Local Education Agencies (LEAs) about KMAP billing.
The grants now have a designated page on the KanCare website. More information can be found at this link.
System Updates
The Kansas Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) is implementing updates to the Kansas Modular Medicaid System (KMMS) beginning August 29, 2025. Updates will include enhancements to improve user experience and system functionality. KMMS will be unavailable during the updates which begin at 6:00 p.m. on August 29, 2025, and run until 6:00 a.m. on September 2, 2025.
In addition to the updates to KMMS, KMAP will also begin servicing Electronic Data Interface (EDI) transactions effective October 15, 2025. Users currently accessing Provider Electronic Solutions (PES) will no longer have access to PES software due to the end of Microsoft support for Windows 10.
Gainwell Technologies and the KMAP team will be hosting two webinars in September for PES discontinuation to provide additional details about sunsetting the software, web options available on KMAP, use of roster billing, upcoming template enhancements and Q&A opportunities with subject matter experts.
